New Materials To Work With

I have a love of Funko Pop Figures. I have quite a collection and am adding to it all the time. They have so many options of genres of Pop Figures. They have done a few Literary inspired ones like Edgar Allen Poe. No Jane Austen yet. So I decided That I really wanted a Jane Austen one. SO the only way to get that was to make my own. So I looked up tutorials on other people who made their own Jane Austen Pop figures and which ones they use to create them.

This is the example that I found. I found and bought the exact one she used. I didn't like it so much because one of the ones she used was now up to like $100. Didn't want to spend that, so the movie Pride and Prejudice and zombies came out and they had Pop figures made out of them. So I got one with the look I was going for to help with the head. That is the problem I was running into.

So these are the 2 I bought. Aurora for the body, and Jane Bennet  from Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. So Besides the painting the biggest part was assembling the parts together into one figure then get the paints gathered to give it all a final look.

So you have to use a hair dryer to loosen the glue on the heads. Also something I have learned is that the flesh colors are not all the same and now some of the newer ones have different size head openings depending on their design. So you really have to look into all these things before you can really do it. So I hair dryer off the heads.

So with that done I epoxied the correct head to the correct body. Let it dry over night and it was ready to paint. I thought I had some in process pictures, but I have bought a new computer and 3 new phones between then and now. So I have no idea where they ended up. Hopefully I will find them one day and add tho the post.

So this is my finished Jane Austen Funko. I love how she turned out. I don't know if I will customize one again, but I like having my very own Jane Austen Pop Figure. So thank you for stopping by and checking out my blog. I hope you have an amazing day!!

Finding My Way And Of Course Jane Austen

It has been along time since I have been in the blogging world. I know that times have change so I am going to be going thru a learning curve that I will struggle with. HTML coding has changed so that will take me a bit to learn all of that again. Which I am so up for. So many things have happened in my life these last few years. I went from having 3 kids still at home when I started this blog. To only having one at home now. To being a grandmother, to moving myself all the way across the country from Idaho to the St.Louis area. To living by myself with my daughter and navigating that.

So I have come to find myself again. I have to say I do love where my life is right now. I have taken control of the direction of my life and am following my own path. It isn't all a bed of roses(cue up 80's hair band ballad), but I am not giving up or giving in. I am living my best life right now. I know that where ever you are right now in the world, wither it is Lock down/self quarantine we are all in this together. None of us know what the new normal is going to look like, but I am going to keep going forward with my life.

I am revamping my blogs, plus starting to navigate new social media platforms that I have not really used a whole lot. So that is going to be a wild ride for me.I am also going to be starting an online only business. That is a huge new project to navigate thru at this time in my life. So I am scared and incredibly excited at the same time. It is something that I am passionate about so hopefully that can drive me thru all of this.

I have always shared more of my daily life, like things I do to save money. Products I use, to how I like to decorate, I share family things and all that daily life brings my way. So since my life and family have changed, I hope you find things as crazy and interesting, and I find new adventures around every corner. So I hope you will come along on this ride with me.

So this Sunday is Mother's Day here in the US. I am not sure when/if other countries have Mother's day, if not then make it your own tradition with your Mom. I have done something for quite awhile now, it is my Mother's day gift. Everyone Has to take care of themselves and I spend the whole day with Jane Austen. I watch Jane Austen movies all day and read only Jane Austen on that day. It has become something I look forward to all year. It is like the most amazing day for me. Nothing is better then spending a day with Jane.

Now I am going to mention some fun Jane things to get you inspired.

One thing I enjoy doing is Cross Stitch. One of my favorite designers is:

Tanya from The Sampler Girl Blog. She loves to read she loves to knit and other things. Please if you are a Janeite in anyway you will totally love her.

She does Jane Austen inspired samplers among other things also. I have bought many patterns from her and finished some. She has even done Christmas ornament designs for Just Cross Stitch. Which of course I have bought.

This is one of the piece I have done. I am still unpacking boxes so many of my other cross stitch pieces are packed away.

This is from my Favorite Jane Austen Novel. Yes Pride and Prejudice has always been my ultimate favorite. When I was in college I had to read Persuasion, I totally hated it. Then I decided years later to try it again. I am so in love with it. It is my favorite. So this is a Quote by Captain Wentworth in a letter (You know Jane and the letters in her books) to Anne Eliot. Their love defeated time and misunderstandings. It makes me swoon every time. So It is a pattern from The sampler girl. I don't know if it is available, but if she doesn't have it on her store message her she does alot of her patterns electronically.  She is the nicest person, plus it never hurts to ask.

I found this amazing ETSY artist who does paintings and sells them and her prints. Her store is called Janet Hill Studio. She does so many amazing things. If I could I would buy like 1 of everything. So like 10 years ago for Mother's day I bought this print the title of it is called Jane Dresses.

It is always the first thing I hang up beside my bed every time I move. I will have to see if she has a link and a store still so I can give her credit for it. I know there was alot of light flooding into the windows today so it has a bit of a glare. So hopefully I will get a better picture later. I just want to have my posts done. So I could share them while I am getting everything set up. You can even see my actual rusty tiara hanging.

So I hope that everyone can have an amazing Mother's Day or can at lest celebrate the life their Mother had.

Please stay safe and at home, follow what your governments and the doctors are telling us with COVID-19. Please listen and take all the precautions they recommend. Free Printable!

I have been busy this week. I just got back from St. Louis. I went to the Creating Keepsakes Scrapbook Convention.

It was so much fun! I learned alot and shopped alot and made new friends! That made it an amazing trip.

This was the bag you could purchase. $3 for the bag by itself, I got the $12 bag loaded with all kinds of goodies in it!!!
I loved everything that came in the bag. It was so so cute!!!

These are a few of the things I purchased. I went to Melissa Frances' booth. She was actually there working her booth. I was totally in awe of her. I didn't do the whole pose for a pic with her. I really am just not that kind of person. But I loved all her stuff. Her blog is so fun to look at. Tons of Yummy stuff! I have to say that now that I am back, I am sure going to be putting a big order into her shop. She has these amazing houses, that I want to do too. Set them up as a Christmas village like she has way too cute.

Then one of the other people I got the pleasure of being around was Teresa @ Craft Fantastic. I made the 2 make-n-takes. They turned out so cute. It was so fun meeting so many people, and Teresa was just amazing! The product is so easy to work with. It is such a great way to make a custom gift for anyone! It is so easy to do that my 14 year old can do it.

So I came back fully inspired and ready to create! I really love Printables. I have printed off tons of things and hung them all over my house. My fav one I found on Pinterest. I have it hanging beside my bed.

I love me some Mr. Darcy!

Well my whole reason for this post is to give all you LDS members a Free Printable. I will post one that isn't so specific in a few days!

Getting back into the Blogisphere!

It has been about 2 years, since the last time I posted anything. I also changed and moved my blog. I wanted to keep the old things, because it reminds me of where I started from. I have been thru a lot of life challenges and trials, and have landed on me feet. So that I am thankful for.

One of my newest adventures is couponing. Which I am going to be blogging about soon. I really want to share what I have learned with others. It has helped so so much. Another adventure I have been on is Pinterest! On there I have tried tons of new recipes and all kinds of things. Hopefully I will start posting those and hopefully set up a Link Party of Pinterest trial and errors, but most off all successes.

One huge Success I have had with Pinterest has been with cleaning products. That is making my own. So I am going to tell you my recipe for homemade dryer sheet.

This works for any kind of Liquid Fabric Softener you use. I make my own, so I used that.

All you need is :

1 air-tight container to mix and store the dryer sheets in
1 package of Paper Coffee Filters
Enough fabric softener to coat the Coffee Filters in.

1.) I poured the liquid over top and just tried to make sure all the filters were lightly coated.
2.) I then let the fabric softener time to soak and dry a bit. Then if there was any left over liquid I
used a few more filters to soak it up.
3.) After they were try I put the lid on the container and they are ready to use.

I have been using them for 2 months now. I love them. they are only good for 1 load, but cost pennies, compared to regular dryer sheets. Plus myself, and 2 of my children have Eczema, and this has not bothered any of us. Which is nice to find something that doesn't break one of us out in rashes.

I hope this has been helpful! It has made my life a whole lot easier, and spent so little on it.
Thanks for Stopping by!

Please, Please Donate Blood!

I have had a crazy end for 2010 and a wonderfully blessed beginning to 2011. My youngest is a fun loving, full of life child. She smiles all the time, and is one of the happiest children I have ever come across. My older children had been sick with a head cold, so when myself and my youngest got sick, I felt it was par for the course. Well my youngest wasn't getting better, then one morning she woke up and her lips were blue. I knew I had to get her to the ER right away. That blue lips and her struggling to breath was a serious combination. Not that pneumonia isn't serious, but what I was about to have happen scared me even more.

There are few things that have happened in my life where I felt the world give out on me, and this in one of those times. In the ER they took her blood, and immediately you could see that something wasn't right with her blood. The Doc came back in and said that her body wasn't producing any Red Blood cells, and they were not sure why. So my mind went straight to the worse case scenario. You know all the bad words like, Bone Marrow, Cancer, among other things. Your body needs Iron to produce Hemoglobin, in order to produce Red Blood Cells. Well when they test your Iron levels someone(Adult or Child), to be in the Healthy range needs to have a level from 10 to 15. They will give someone a Blood Transfusion at a level of 7(Adult or Child). When she was admitted to Riley's Children's Hospital her level was at a 3.3. She had to have 2 blood transfusions.

I know this is probably scaring a few people right now. I will say it scared me to Death. She had just barely turned 2 and I was freaked out. Then after some more tests were run, and hours of worry, they finally had a theory of what had happened. For some reason the milk she had been drinking along with other unknown factors, her body had been blocking the absorption of Iron. So no big Bad words were wrong with her! So then it was OK well now what do we do? Well literally the Blood that someone so kindly Donated saved her life. She spent a week in the hospital getting better, and making sure she went 48 hours without any infection in her blood. I can't tell you how blessed that made me. That what was wrong, was a treatable condition. The event was serious, I was lucky that she lived through it. I was told that it had taken her body a year to get that bad, and I didn't know. It had compromised her Heart and I was told they were not sure why her heart was even still beating. So my Christmas miracle and New Year was getting to bring her Home!

The reason I am using this as my First post on my New Blog is that something so simple as donating Blood, could save someones life. I am so Thankful to the person who Donated blood, that my Child benefited from that all I can do is the same thing and spread the word. Go to the Red Cross's website, give them a call, and find out what you have to do to donate. There are people everyday with similar stories to mine. Such a small thing to give, but what a great benefit it is to save a life!

Riley's Children's Hospital was such an amazing place to have her go to. I was so blessed we were so close to such a great hospital. One thing I really never knew much about was how much good work Ronald McDonald House does for families of sick kids. Next time you are there just think about giving some of your leftover change to them. All the money donated to Ronald McDonald House goes to help the families. I never knew what they did till I saw them first hand.
Thank You for stopping by my blog! Have a wonderful day!!

Fun With Photoshop!

Ree from The Pioneer Woman, does amazing and fun things. She has a wonderful site full of things to explore. What I am doing the post on is specific to Ree's photography work. She has created filters, plus has tutorials that help you navigate some difficult things on Photoshop. It is so wonderful to have people that help and share their knowledge to achieve beautiful things.

This is my before Photo with the kids. Not too bad. This is right by our church building. I have always liked this spot. I actually took this picture in the exact place I had my engagement photo taken. 12 years ago the fence wasn't there and the trees were much fuller then.

{The Before shot! Not a bad picture at all.}

Here is the amazing after! I really liked the picture before, Now I love, love, love it! I have to Thank Ree for sharing her skills and knowledge to make this picture Sparkle. Take a look at her site and see what else she has to offer!

Shoes A Girls Best Friend!

I love a pretty pair of shoes! I love high heels, I love a fun pair of Chuck Taylor shoes. A few years ago I found this card at Pier 1. It was a cream colored card with a cut out of a shoe with beads all over it. I fell in love with it. I knew I wanted to frame it. If not for the sheer fact of keeping the beads on the card. Well I did frame it and loved it even more if that is possible. So for the last few years I have been trying to find "Shoe" cards or pictures to hang up. I haven't come across anything that I liked, or in the colors of my bedroom, which are Pink and Green. So when I run into not being able to find exactly what I am looking for. I then look to see if I can make what I am looking for. So I did just that and decided to make my own. I got a template and some fun scrapbook papers and glitter and glitter glue and went to work. Here is what I came up with.
Clearance Frame from JoAnn Fabrics. I just found a huge JoAnn's where I live. I totally love it!
I needed a subtle background paper. So you notice the shoe and not the background paper.

Here is the template I used. I cut it out of a cereal box! So It was kind of green using what I had on hand. I didn't buy any special paper either. I used what I had already. So the cost of this project was the cost of the frame and that was it.
The finished shoe, complete with Glittered Heel and swirls!

Here it is all finished in its Frame and on the Wall!

This is the original shoe picture that inspired the whole project!

This is a collage of pictures that are beside my nightstand. I have a fun silhouette of Jane Austen! I got the Image from Dover my fav place to get fun Clip Art. The thing I love is that it was free!!!

This is the whole thing! If you notice there are a few holes in the whole collage. Well I am making a sampler for one of the spots and the other is a beautiful free cross stitch pattern I got of a shoe from DMC's free patterns. I am going to try and find the link for it. Here is the exact Link for the cross stitch Shoe! Check out DMC's free patterns Plus they have a blog too!
Thank You for dropping by! I hope you have been inspired to create your Own shoe collection!
Have A Great Day! Come Back Really Soon For a Visit!
